Charles Bukowski (1920-1994), born in Germany and raised in the United States, was one of the most controversial and influential writers of the 20th century. The son of a violent father and of a precarious life, he turned failure into an aesthetic. In rough, transparent language, he gave a voice to the excluded, the drunks and the cynics. In Bukowski, beauty happens when there's nothing left to lose.
Born in 1982 in Córdoba, Argentina.
She was a sex worker, a street seller and a housemaid. She is a writer, actress and singer. One of the most important voices in contemporary Latin American literature.
On page 47, a reference to Aristotle's "Poetics": "A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing possibility." We'll have "L'Homme compassionnel" for Christmas.
Born in Ukraine, raised in Brazil. One of the most singular figures in 20th century literature. «Even cutting away your own defects can be dangerous. You never know which defect is holding up the whole building.»
