The stories of Roberto Bolaño, a master of the short form, condense the entire literary universe of the author, one of the most insurgent and singular of contemporary letters. They are stories populated by characters in constant wandering, from the fringes of Latin America to the spectral cities of Europe: obscure poets, morally ambiguous criminals, enigmatic women, exiles in search of a place of their own.

As if in a plan previously drawn by the author, a "minefield" bequeathed to his readers, characters and narrative threads intertwine composing a kind of total fiction, a living organism, that opens countless possibilities of association with its parts and the rest of his work, as are examples the appearances in several of these texts of the famous wild detectives Belano and Ulisses Lima, or the connection between the first and last story, literary games that only a continuous reading, in a single volume, can provide.

Organized in chronological order, Complete Stories includes all the stories written by Bolaño: whether the already published volumes (Telephone Calls and Killer Pussycat), now in a new translation, or the unpublished in Portugal (The Unbearable Gaucho, The Secret of Evil and The Eye's Contour), revealing the power of a voice that burst out as a novelty and shook the literary canon becoming a global phenomenon.
