A serene, luminous and deeply human celebration of love and everyday life. Chronicles in which the author transforms the simple domestic gesture, the banal object, the shared silence, into a space of revelation.

"There is nothing that happens to me that does not become better by happening with you."

Far from the irony of his early years, he writes with an adult tenderness, an absolute attention to the fragility of time lived together. A way of thanking the persistence of life in common.

"What I want is to praise pure love.
It seems to me that no one falls in love anymore.
No one wants to live an impossible love anymore.
No one accepts loving without a reason anymore."

Miguel Esteves Cardoso (b. 1955) is a writer, columnist and a striking figure in Portuguese culture since the 1980s. He studied Economics, translated, wrote for various newspapers and magazines, and signed some of the most influential chronicles in the Portuguese press. His work, which includes books such as O Amor é Fodido, A Causa das Coisas and As Minhas Aventuras na República Portuguesa, combines humor, sensitivity and a remarkable capacity for observation. In recent years, his writing has become more refined. One of the great chroniclers of the present day.
