Apocalypse Ship

1996. 1st Edition.

An ordinary family, faced with the imminent end of the world. A portrait of married life and its disillusionment, with a certain blend of cruelty and irony. It is the experience of this not-so-sacred family as described by the author.

Rui Zink, born in Lisbon in 1961, is one of the most singular voices in contemporary Portuguese literature. A writer, teacher, and intellectual provocateur, he has created a body of work marked by irony, social criticism, and a rare ability to transform the everyday into revealing absurdity.

In books such as O Destino Turístico, A Instalação do medo, or Hotel Lusitano, he explores the tension between fantasy and reality: humour as a sharp form of thought.
