The journey of Samuel Espinosa, a New York detective living in New York who, according to the author, is a tribute to the philosopher of the same name, grandson of Portuguese people and living most of the time in Amsterdam, where his grandfather had to emigrate due to the expulsion of the Jews from Portugal.

As a good New Yorker, he added, Samuel Espinosa "doesn't believe in anything, curiously finding himself looking for Jesus although without knowing it", he added.

(…) I will continue immersed in this traveling adventure of detective flavor, with detective and everything, seasoned (and not overseasoned, as is sometimes the author's trademark on TV) by the peculiar and sober irony of Rui Zink, where popular wit coexists with cultured allusions without exhibitionism. Subtle humor, which marks or cuts through a plot of spirituality (parodic), love and other enigmas.

Rui Zink, born in Lisbon in 1961, is one of the most unique voices in contemporary Portuguese literature. Writer, professor and intellectual provocateur, he built a body of work marked by irony, social criticism and the rare ability to transform everyday life into revealing absurdity.

In books such as O Destino Turístico, A Instalação do medo or Hotel Lusitano, he explores the tension between fantasy and reality: humor as a sharp form of thought.
