Matches struck in the wind

“Radio has always been a territory of told stories, and each of these chronicles is a narrative from different corners, a multifaceted mirror, elegant prose that in the author’s voice has gained melody, an ironic intonation, a rhythm of its own.”

And is that not how literature was born? At times reclaiming the innocence of childhood, at others accepting and extolling maturity—time, memory, others, the world. We read about the importance of simple things and old gestures, with the greatness that lies within them.

Mário Cláudio’s chronicles are calling cards of our humanity, giving us, as in Pessoa’s verse, “Hope like a match still burning.”
